Areas of Specialty:  Eastern Europe

I have been traveling to Europe for over 20 years. I found myself drawn to Eastern Europe…Holland/Belgium/France/Germany. I was fortunate enough to live a total of 6 yrs there.  I spent one year in Amsterdam and lived within 1 block of Vondel Park, the biggest natural park within the city limits of Amsterdam.   My favorite museum in all of Europe is located here…the Rijksmuseum…hours and hours of Flemish and Dutch masterpiece are displayed in this splendid, remarkable, recently renovated fortress.  Without a doubt, the crowning masterpiece has to be Rembrandt’s ‘Night Watch’ housed in one room completely by itself! The Anne Frank house is also a must as is the Van Gosh museum and as well, the original Heineken factory is now open after a 3 yr. rennovation for your enjoyment!

I spent 3 yrs in the beautiful city of Brugge, Belgium which is considered ‘the Venice of the North’.  In my humble opinion, it is the most beautiful of medieval cities in all of Belgium, if not, arguably, in all of Europe.  The city centre is actually closed now to cars- horse drawn carriages are abundant but walking within Brugge is simply incredible.  Without a doubt, the best chocolate I’ve ever had was handmade in Brugge    www.thechocolateline.be and it certainly is a delight and a worthwhile hour train ride from Brussels to escape to this well-kept secret.  Oh!  Be sure to keep an eye out for the elders hand making lace outside their shops on the weekend as well as the local market, complete with everything from exotic birds to local home-baked specialties.  Even though Dutch is the main language, the majority of the people in Brugge speak Flemish (a dutch dialect).  As they say in Brugge…Angenaam!  (Nice to meet you!)

Cruises:

I guess, because, as a child I was so drawn to anything that floated on water, without a doubt, that carried over in my adult life and as of Nov. 27, 2010, I embarked on my 23rd cruise onboard the newly created Eclipse with Celebrity Cruises.  Owned by Royal Caribbean and operating their 20th year, there is no doubt in my mind now why this cruise line won most accolades of 2010!  The crew to passenger ratio is 3 to 1…the service is quite unbelievably top notch and the food is creatively awesome!  For me, it was  a much needed, relaxed elegance, portrayed onboard while on my 7 day Caribbean journey…my former cruises range from 3 to 14 days from such cruise lines as Norwegian, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Premier, The Big Red Boat, American Hawaii Cruises as well as many local cruises, i.e. Helsinki to Tallin, Calais to Dover, Helsinki to Stockholm.  Recently asked my opinion of the most scenic cruise I’ve ever taken,(I’ve been fortunate enough to partake 4 times) and in my humble opinion, hands down, is the  Greek Islands…overwhelming and simply breathtaking!  It would be my pleasure to help in any way to make your cruise dreams a reality…

Las Vegas:

Wow!  What does one say about Vegas that hasn’t already been said?  Gaudy, elegant, glitzy, action-packed, non-stop, contemporary..there are many ways to describe this 24/7 city!  Although once a year suffices for me, this Disneyland for adults is well worth the time to just wander and be amazed!  I’ve been in almost every hotel on the strip…I think the new Cosmopolitan and Planet Hollywood Towers are the only two I can recall that I must visit on my next venture there!  My favorite top 3 hotels there are Caesar’s,  Aria and New York New York!  Oh! And be sure to take a quick elevator to the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower for sunset cocktails and hor d’ouevres at the Paris hotel!  Enjoy!  and Bon Chance!

From Teri G.-Costa Rica Pam,  We just returned last night from our trip to Costa Rica. What a fabulous vacation. I cannot think of a single thing that went wrong. We did have lots of rain, but not enough to have a major impact on our vacation. Our transportation to Grano de Oro was waiting at the airport on our arrival. The hotel itself was lovely. Our car was delivered as planned on Monday morning and our only challenge of the day was for Doug to get accustomed to driving in Costa Rica. I really cannot say enough about Arenal Nayara. We only say the bottom half of the volcano when we checked in, but I have never been to a more romantic hotel and ever had any better service from the staff. Absolutely loved the intimacy and small size of the hotel. Our travel to Manuel Antonio was uneventful. Parador was the perfect choice! The staff there was exceptional as well. Since the hotel was larger, we had more options for onsite restaurants and bars. The trails on site were a treat since you could see sloths, monkeys, raccoons and other wildlife steps from your room.  As you can tell, we had a blast. Everyone kept praising me for the great choices I made. The only choice I made was to call you at ARTA Travel! Thanks for a wonderful trip!!! Teri G.   From Johanna A. “We had a great time at the Marival Residences in Puerto Vallarta, weather was perfect. All the boys were thoroughly entertained, they jet skied, parasailed, swam with the dolphins and rode the surf until they were completely exhausted. The unexpected goodie was the regatta which started on Sunday, the marker boats were directly in front of the resort, and we so enjoyed watching the sailing. Thank you for all your patience and help. P.S. I will forward you a few pics of the beach, you were right, it was perfect!”   From Mike S.Lewisville, TX “We wish to Thank You for the Five Day Ski Vacation @ Mt Crested Butte. We had not skied for over twenty years. In fact, our last ski trip was to Crested Butte. We rented a house outside the Mountain Lift area. It was entirely different than staying at The Elevation Hotel & Spa. Our stay at The Elevation was most memorable. Our room was large including a Mountain View with Balcony. The Elevation is truly a (Ski In/ Ski Out) Hotel. The Two main Lifts are within 100’ of the Hotel. Best of all, The Elevation offers not only Ski Rental, but a Ski Valet. At the end of the day you can ski to within 30’ of the Hotel Ski Valet, and walk up to your room. Best of all, was the staff at The Elevation. They were most accommodating and friendly. It was refreshing to stay in a Resort Hotel that really wanted your business and went out of their way to meet our needs. A feature of the Base Area where The Elevation Hotel is located, it offers Shops and Restaurants to meet our needs. There is no need to travel elsewhere, unless you wanted to Shop in the Town of Crested Butte which is 3 miles away. Although, that is easily accessed by a City Bus that commutes every 15 minutes. No need to rent a car. Our traveling the week before Spring Break was a Blessing. No Crowds, No Lift lines, and Good Service. We were amazed at how Open and Friendly all of the Hotel and Lift Area employees were. Again, Thank you for the entire package of Air, Hotel & Lift Tickets. It couldn’t have been better. We highly recommend The Elevation Hotel & Spa for your Ski Bums. Crested Butte brings back the laid back/ old school of skiing.”   From Betty D.Dallas, TX “We loved our girl’s get-a-way at the Secrets Capri Riviera Maya. We managed to incorporate 16 spa treatments into our hectic schedule. The food was fabulous. The people watching was 5 star. What can I say.....? It was the best trip ever. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food and likes to be pampered. Great evening entertainment also.”   From Josh B. “Wanted to drop you a quick line to tell you that Rosemary and I had a fantastic time in Jamaica. The Iberostar Grand Rose Hall was incredible and we would highly recommend it to any of your other clients. I could go on and on praising the resort, as the staff and amenities were top notch and we couldn’t imagine staying at a nicer place. Thanks again for all of your help and suggestions and we look forward to talking to you before our next vacation!”   From Taryne G.Frisco, TX “Just wanted to thank you again for your assistance with our travel plans to Cabo. We returned last week from our stay at Barceló, and we JUST LOVED IT! We truly came back completely relaxed, and we didn't have to worry about a thing, thanks to you! We will be contacting you again in the future with any vacations we plan.”   From Terry B.Dallas, TX “I wanted to let all of you know that you made our dreams come true. It was a trip of a lifetime. All connections were flawless!. The tour guides were great. The accommodations were perfect. We got upgraded twice to suites at no charge. Once on Rovas and the second time on the cruise down the Nile. Sabi Sabi was a dream land. We will definitely be contacting you again to plan our next trip. Please let all the vendors know that they did a fabulous job.”   From Tracy P. “I wanted to let you know that our trip was fantastic. Flights, transfers, hotels, train from London to Paris, and tours all went off without a hitch. I would definitely recommend the Brighton Hotel in Paris to others - small but great breakfast, good service and perfect location. Our "apartment" was perfect for the 4 of us. The Landing Beaches tour was probably the highlight. Coach station was a block from the hotel, we left right on time, tour guide was excellent, and lunch was superb (included wine!). We had a double decker coach and we all got seats on top with magnificent views! We also took the Oxford, Strafford and Warwick tour by the same company when we were in London and it was great too. I decided it was easier to do the package tour than me trying to do it myself with 2 kids, 2 seniors and my husband. Thank you for all of your work putting this together! We're planning on doing the Greece Cruise early June of next year so I'll be in touch. Thanks again!”   From Bonny O. “Hi there - just a brief thanks for organizing our trip - we had a great time! I know we did not make things easy for you with our schedules and you really gave us what we asked for anyway - The horse ride on the beach was truly the highlight of my life, and I think we could spend a month at the Great Fosters - that was by far the coolest place with the best personal service we have ever received. The tickets for the Shakespeare play were fabulous and our personal tour guide on our arrival in London was wonderful. I cannot thank you enough.”   From Arron M. “I have told myself everyday to send you an email thanking you for everything I just got busy and forgot. Costa Rica was amazing and hands down the best trip we have ever been on. The hotels were amazing and very accommodating to our needs and friendly. Arenal Nayara was beautiful the first day we could almost see the top of the Volcano. At Arena, we did the Canopy tour which was amazing, the horseback and hike to the La Fortuna waterfall, and the 3 in one trip volcano hike hot springs and dinner. At Manuel Antonio Si Como No was an amazing hotel as well. We did the Butterfly Garden, The national park with a guide, allot of the beach and sun, and an amazing spa treatment (couples volcanic massage). The food was excellent everywhere we went. Hotel Grano De Oro was very nice but does not have a/c but we were only there for 2 nights (but a very very nice hotel all in all) We have already been talking about going back and taking some friends. We want to thank you so much for all of this it went perfect. ”
